Review or get ahead for first grade math! This semester long course covers the first half of first grade math. My classes are interactive and fun. I like to engage the children and we all problem solve together. I use props, a whiteboard, and fun animated PowerPoint slides during my lessons. I always encourage learner interaction and I check in occasionally with a thumb's up to make sure there are no questions before we proceed. After the lesson objectives are taught, we complete a worksheet...
Goals include: -count, read, write numbers to 50 -understand place value: ones, tens, bundles of tens -understand the commutative and associative property of addition, and identity property of zero -understand the relationship between addition and subtraction -skip count to 50 by 2s, 5s, 10s -add/subtract within 20 -compare lengths, represent and interpret data -learn to tell time on a digital and analog clock to the hour, half hour -learn the value of coins -learn 2D shapes, composing/decomposing circles/rectangles, halves/quarters/whole

Each week we may have a homework sheet to be completed at home. We will discuss this during class. Homework is not mandatory but is highly encouraged. It should only take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.提供的評估
I will send out feedback to the parents at the end of the semester. I will check in with the parents sooner if the learner is struggling in a specific area. I always welcome questions/comments during the semester.提供的成績
The learners will need to print some worksheets at home. They should always have a notebook and pencil. Blocks of any kind (same length/size, different lengths/colors), and something to count (Cheerios, M&Ms, etc). We will also learn about coins. If you can, please collect 25 pennies, 5 nickels, 10 dimes, and 4 quarters. I will send out an email ahead of time if materials are needed for the next class.
