課堂經歷
These boba popsicles are becoming the next fad! A box of 4 at the store costs almost $10! So let's make our own at home! If you have taken my DIY boba tea class, you can use the bobas you learned to make from that class. Otherwise, you can get premade bobas for this class. I will demonstrate the process step by step while students follow along to make their own boba popsicles. Students can choose to use different types of ice-cream (look in the supplies section for the options). I will check on their progress to make sure they're doing it correctly. We will finish making the popsicles but they'll need to freeze for a couple of hours after class before eating. By the end of the session, I hope students will gain a sense of confidence in themselves while having fun! No experience or knowledge is required. *Please check the supplies section and get the correct ingredients prior to the class.*
其他詳情
父母的引導和規範
Please be aware of any possible allergies your child might have in the ingredients.
Please know that we will be using the microwave to make hot water during class. If your child needs help, please supervise.
Students will require parents to help/supervise boiling the boba after the class.
供應清單
- about 1/2 cup cooked boba. (If you have taken my DIY boba tea class, you can use the bobas you learned to make from that class, but they don't need to be round. Just cut the dough up into small chunks will do. You can also purchase them from boba drink places or buy them in a package uncooked and just cook them, but these commercial bobas, when they freeze, they freeze a lot harder and may not taste as good.) *Cook the bobas before class and keep them in some cold water* - ice-cream. Get the kind that freezes solid, not too soft. A pint is enough unless you want to make more. I recommend vanilla or matcha flavor. - 1/4 cup dark brown sugar. If you only have light brown sugar, it'll work too, but the dark brown ones make better coloring. - popsicle mold. I recommend silicone ones. Or you can use small plastic cups and put popsicle sticks in them as well. - popsicle sticks if needed. - microwave & a microwave safe bowl. - measuring spoons & cups

About Me:
I have a Master's degree in teaching and over 15 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools. From 2016-2020, I've been teaching and training teachers for online instruction, specializing in methodologies and curriculum development. I also spent many years studying how the brain learns information. It's fascinating! I'm a mom of two kiddos. They are the reason I love teaching.
My classes:
All the materials in my classroom are designed with kids in mind, and I ensure that all my classes are tested with students before being launched. My strength lies in motivating struggling students to enjoy learning. I help them overcome fear of challenging subjects like math or languages by creating an environment
that is fun and engaging. Over the years, I have implemented effective lessons, using unconventional methods such as Singapore math, that are not typically taught in classrooms. These methods allow me to target students' individual needs.
Accomplishments:
I have spearheaded several initiatives in online teaching, including the first successful online classroom program in the world for impoverished children, which I presented at the International TESOL Convention in 2018. My ultimate desire is to see education made accessible to underprivileged kids worldwide.
Educational Philosophy:
I believe that every child deserves access to fun and effective education. Recognizing that every child learns differently, I strive to accommodate various learning styles. Above all, my goal is to put a smile on every child's face.
Education:
- Bachelor's in Design
- Master's degree in Teaching
- Elementary Education Certification with ESOL
