This class will let your young writers combine their love of words with their love of the visual arts. If they don't already enjoy writing poetry, this class will ease them in through playful practice. They'll also get to look at several examples written by others. Color poems teach students how to describe colors through using the five senses. Concrete poems are actually written in the shapes of poems' topics. If the poem is about running shoes, a basketball, or a meringue pie, those will be the shapes in which the lines of words are written. They are pictures and poems all in one!
