This is a beginner’s drawing class and no prior knowledge is required.  We will be drawing a new face or figure of a person each week so come join us any time!  The goal of our class is to foster the joy of making art while building confidence, fine motor skills, and focus!  

Each week in this ongoing class students will get to make a simple drawing of a person.  We will begin each class by saying hello and checking that we have our supplies ready.  Then we will discuss the basic shapes and lines that make up the picture that we are drawing, and we will warm up our hands and bodies.  Once we are warmed up, students will follow along with the teacher step by step to draw a person.  All drawings will be demonstrated on screen so students can easily draw with the teacher.  While my directions are detailed, I also encourage students to add their own creative touches.  If students finish their drawings and have time they may outline and color in their pictures.  

As students work, I always make sure to provide feedback, encouragement, and additional instructions as needed.  If time allows, at the end of class our young artists will have the opportunity to share their artwork with their classmates.  Each demonstration will be finished by the end of class, but students may want to continue working on their masterpieces after we have signed off for the day.  Everyone works at a different speed, and it's better to take our time than to rush!  

Supplies Needed:
-9x12 or 8.5x11 piece of white paper
-Pencil with eraser
-Crayons
-Black washable marker for outlining
**You may also want a piece of poster board or large paper to protect the work area from stray marks.
