In Ms. Julie and Pippa's classes, the focus is on keeping kids connected, engaged, learning and smiling. On Thursdays, we play to learn all about feelings and social/emotional skills. Feel free to jump into the class at any point in its run; we'll do something new each week, so your learner won't be behind if they didn't start at the beginning. Students will learn and revisit their feelings and social/emotional skills through a variety of learning tools, including songs, dances, direct teaching, reading, and extension activities. Students will develop early literacy skills through interactive read-alouds. Students will develop and practice social skills through chats with friends.
I am entering my third year of teaching on Outschool. Prior to my time here, I was a classroom teacher for five years and taught years of weekly social/emotional support classes to middle school students. I have an MA in Education and two kids of my own (5 and 2) who both have big hearts and big feelings.
