**This is a self-paced class; there are no live meetings. Learners will watch the video content and interact with the different activities at their own pace. In this 6-lesson self-paced course, we will cover advanced fractions operations - adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing proper fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers. This course is ideal for learners who already have a basic foundation in fractions and are wanting to expand on their current knowledge in the areas of advanced operations with all fraction types. Each lesson learners will watch a series of mini-lecture videos on the topic of the week where I will teach the weekly content and work through a series of examples for learners to reference as they complete the weekly activities. There will also be an activity and/or project for the week in addition to video notes worksheets, practice worksheets, weekly challenge questions (posted myself and also created by the learners), and a weekly mini-quiz to complete to further expand on the learner's understanding of the weekly topic. Weekly Topics: Week 1: Defining Types of Fractions & Converting Between Improper Fractions & Mixed Numbers Week 2: Simplifying Fractions (Using Factors & Divisibility Rules) Week 3: Adding/Subtracting Fractions & Mixed Numbers (Like Denominators) Week 4: Adding/Subtracting Fractions & Mixed Numbers (Unlike Denominators) Week 5: Multiplying Proper Fractions & Mixed Numbers Week 6: Dividing Proper Fractions & Mixed Numbers

Hello! My name is Ms. Sarah! I am very excited to meet you! I recently finished 8 years of college and graduated with my Doctorate degree in Audiology (diagnosing and treating hearing and balance disorders) in May 2020! I have been a teacher in many ways over the last 13 years. I am a 5th degree black belt in taekwondo and have been teaching taekwondo to students ages 4-18 over the last 14 years. I have also been a math tutor for more than 11 years, teaching students math concepts ranging from basic mathematics learned in K5 through high school algebra II, both face-to-face and virtually. Other math prep courses I have taught include several ACT standardized testing math prep courses. In the last couple of years I have added teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) virtually to international students ages 4-15. I have a strong passion for teaching, and I love helping students succeed and become more confident and independent. I enjoy taekwondo, traveling, reading, fishing, and spending time with my family. I can't wait to meet you, and I hope to see your learner in my classroom soon!!
