Let's celebrate the Fourth of July with some fun! We will begin this one-time class by having some time to talk about what we know about the Fourth of July and how students celebrate. Next, we will be talking about the importance of this holiday and learning about some important symbols of the U.S.A. All learners are welcome, no matter where they live! :) Students will also make a patriotic craft that they can display for get-togethers! We will also make a snack in class that students can enjoy during class. This snack will also be one that learners can make for their families and friends this holiday! Please see supply list for the snack and craft and parent support is appreciated (off-camera) with our snack and craft for learners needing some support! I hope you will join me to learn about this important holiday!

Students will learn about why the Fourth of July is celebrated. We will also learn a few important U.S.A. symbols. Students will also make a snack and craft.

*Parent support (off-camera) is appreciated for younger learners and learners needing some extra support. There will be some cutting, gluing, and snack help needed.*

*Please print and cut out star patterns BEFORE class. If you are not able to print and cut out prior to class, I will show students how to make stars during class and students can finish this with parent support. Students can either draw them with a white crayon or cut them out of white paper with parent support. Please note we will not have enough time in class to draw and cut out stars, so if you don't have these printed before class, I will show students how to make them and this part of the craft can be finished after class.* -1 sheet of blue construction paper, printout of stars cut out prior to class, red and white tissue paper OR crepe paper, scissors, glue, small sheet of red construction OR white construction paper, stapler (with the help of an adult), 1-2 graham crackers, white frosting or cream cheese, red and blue M & M's (you can substitute red M & M's for strawberries cut up into small slices and substitute blue M & M's for blueberries)

Hello! I am so excited to be a part of Outschool and to share my love of teaching with your child! My mother was a teacher and I’ve always known that teaching is my passion! I am a licensed teacher who taught elementary grades for 12 years. I was also a reading specialist at the elementary level. I’ve been teaching on Outschool since 2020 and I taught ESL students online for three years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Literacy. I am currently a licensed teacher in the state of Ohio.
Currently, I stay at home with my own three children, but I love being able to still create lessons and teach from home. I absolutely LOVE watching kids learn something new! I enjoy creating new lessons to teach online and also to share lessons that have helped my students in the past. I love to engage students in discussions and hands-on lessons to help make learning fun! I also keep class sizes smaller so kids have a chance to interact with both their peers and myself. I strive to make students feel comfortable and to be engaged in my classroom. If you see a class that doesn’t fit your schedule, please let me know and I will do my best to make accommodations.
