Part 1 of 4 This is the first 4 week section of a 4 part course. Are you looking for a class that will help your student think big and change the world? Look no further! In this 16-week class, our experienced instructor will teach your student how to identify and analyse social and environmental issues, think creatively to develop innovative solutions, and communicate and implement their ideas. With no formal grades or tests, learners will have the freedom to explore and develop their own ideas. And with a flexible, pre-recorded format, students can complete the class at their own pace and on their own schedule. Join us for Big Ideas to Change the World - The Class That Helps You Think Bigger! In this class, students will learn how to think bigger by exploring innovative ideas that can change the world. The class will be divided into the following weeks and topics: Week 1: Introduction to big ideas We'll start by exploring what it means to think big and how big ideas can change the world. Week 2: Exploring innovative ideas We'll look at examples of innovative ideas that have made a significant impact on society and the environment. Week 3: Understanding the power of creativity We'll delve into the role of creativity in problem-solving and how it can be harnessed to develop innovative solutions. Week 4: Identifying and analyzing social issues In this week, we'll focus on social issues. We'll explore the causes and effects of poverty, discuss the various forms of inequality present in society (including racial, gender, and economic inequality), and delve into the concept of social justice, looking at how it is pursued and why it is important. By the end of the class, students will have a better understanding of how to think bigger and develop ideas that can make a difference in the world. They will have developed essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and effective communication. Join us for a course that will inspire and empower your student to think bigger and make a difference. The social and environmental issues that will be brought up during the course of this class include poverty, inequality, social justice, climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss. These topics will be covered in weeks 4 and 5 of the course. The flexible schedule (Recorded Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started). The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project. After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to improve or adapt. Time frame for the Week: Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions. Tuesdays - Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion. Students will discuss it among themselves. Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week.
