課堂經歷
Each week, I will upload a recording to the classroom. I will start each recording with fun holiday facts, accompanied by pictures. I will then give step-by-step instructions on how to create the weekly drawing or craft. During the recordings, I will have different screens visible, so that students can see me speaking at the start of each recording and then watch my hands as I draw and create the crafts. This will allow learners to follow along with my instructions. I will break each step down, so artists of all levels are welcome! Students will have the ability to pause each recording, as needed. Students can replicate my creations or add their own unique elements, with some ideas mentioned in the recordings. Week 1 I will start the weekly recording with some fun facts about toys as Christmas gifts! I will then demonstrate how to draw Pikachu dressed as an elf. Students will upload their drawing to the classroom and write a short poem about the best Christmas gift they've given or received. However, there's a catch! Don't name the gift in your poem, and see if your teacher or fellow-learners can guess the gift you wrote about. Week 2 I will start the weekly recording sharing 5 facts about the history of Christmas ornaments. Next, we will create a Yoda Santa ornament. We can do this using simple materials: construction paper, scissors, a glue stick, and string or ribbon. A complete list is in the materials section below. Learners will share a photo of their finished ornament. Five times throughout the week, I will post different decoration scavenger hunt challenges for the learners. For example, take a photo of a decoration, in your home or community, that has large ears and isn't Baby Yoda. Week 3 I will start the weekly recording by sharing some fun facts about Christmas trees! I will then demonstrate how to draw Baby Yoda, wearing a Santa hat, in a Christmas gift under a Christmas tree. Students will write a collaborative story about a Christmas tree. I will write the initial sentence for the story. A student will write a second sentence. The next student will write a third, and so on. The story can continue to grow until the following week. Week 4 I will start the weekly recording with some facts the Times Square New Year's Eve ball drop. I will then demonstrate how to create a Poke-Ball countdown craft. Students will share a picture of their creations to the classroom and can share what they are looking forward to in 2022! Learners will also share their New Year's Eve traditions. How does a “Flexible Schedule” course work? There are no live sessions. A new recording is uploaded to the classroom each week. Discussions with the teacher take place via the classroom message board or private message.
