In this 8-week class, students will learn everything they need to know about building a custom gaming computer. From researching and selecting the right components to assembling and troubleshooting the final product, this class will provide a comprehensive understanding of the process. Each week will cover a different aspect of building a gaming PC, and students will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance throughout the course. By the end, students will have the knowledge and skills to confidently build their own custom gaming computer. Week 1 : Topics in session 1 will include: Introduction to Custom Gaming Computers Overview of the custom gaming PC process Researching and selecting components Setting a budget Week 2 : Topics in session 2 will include: Choosing a Processor Understanding CPU specifications and performance Comparing Intel and AMD options Selecting the right processor for your needs Week 3: Topics in session 3 will include: Choosing a Graphics Card Understanding GPU performance and features Comparing NVIDIA and AMD options Selecting the right graphics card for your needs Week 4: Topics in session 4 will include: Choosing Memory and Storage Understanding RAM types and speeds Selecting the right amount of memory for your needs Choosing between HDD and SSD storage Deciding on a storage capacity Week 5: Topics in session 5 will include: Choosing a Graphics Card Understanding GPU performance and features Comparing NVIDIA and AMD options Selecting the right graphics card for your needs Week 6: Topics in session 6 will include: Choosing a Power Supply and Case Understanding power supply wattage and efficiency Selecting the right power supply for your build Choosing a case that fits your components and aesthetics Week 7: Topics in session 7 will include: Assembling the Gaming PC Prepping the components and tools Step-by-step guide to assembling the gaming PC Tips for successful and safe assembly Week 8: Topics in session 8 will include: Troubleshooting and Final Steps Common issues and solutions during the build process Installing the operating system and drivers Testing and optimizing the gaming PC Upgrading and maintaining the gaming PC in the future The flexible schedule (Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started). The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project. After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to create a process to manage their finances successfully. Time frame for the Week: Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions. Tuesdays - Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion. Students will discuss it among themselves. Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week. Please note: This course requires no prior experience. *If you do not see a time or date listed for a class that interests you, please message me with a few possible dates and times, and I will do my best to offer a session that will work for your schedule. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Concessions ▬▬▬▬▬▬ For parents/families who feel their child would benefit from this course, but their budget does not allow for it, I do offer a number of discounts for families of lower income. He was fortunate to have a mentor who guided him through the complexities of business and financial management, helping him to understand the value of money and how to identify and seize opportunities to make money and manage an investment portfolio.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Johnathan holds a Bachelors of Science degree and has experience teaching life skills, computer skills, business, and English to middle and high school students and adults around the world both live in person and online via Zoom.
