Students will learn how to identify a cause, create a mission statement, build a team, fundraise, and establish a non-profit organization. They will also gain knowledge in financial management, marketing, and leadership skills.
Our instructor, Jo, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the table, making him the ideal teacher for this course. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Jo has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a passion for teaching conversational English to learners of all ages. Additionally, he has worked as a martial arts expert and has performed around the world with various circus teams, showcasing his many talents, including bubbleology, staff spinning, juggling, and stilt walking. As a successful serial entrepreneur, Jo has a wealth of knowledge in financial management and investment portfolio management, making him an expert in identifying and seizing opportunities. Jo is also part of Performers Without Borders, a volunteer-run charity that believes in the transformative power of learning and performing arts. Jo helped combine shared interests in performance skills and community development. Jo's diverse background and extensive experience make him the ideal instructor for this 16-week Starting a Non-Profit course, designed to inspire students to make a positive impact in their community.
