In this class, we will delve into the process of building a successful YouTube channel. We will explore how to take an idea and turn it into a thriving channel, as well as delve into the specific skills required for understanding the video editing aspect of owning and operating a YouTube channel. By the end of this class, you will be well on your way to becoming an influential YouTuber!

The class will be broken down into three main sections: Building a YouTube Channel, Photography, and Video + Sound Editing.

First, we will focus on the foundation of building a YouTube channel. We will discuss the importance of identifying your niche, building a brand, and creating a content strategy. Additionally, we will explore the different tools and resources available to help you grow your channel and gain an audience.

Next, we will delve into the world of photography, which is an essential aspect of producing quality content on your YouTube channel. We will explore the different types of lighting and how to use it to create a desired mood in your videos. We will also cover different shooting modes, compose a shot, and explore the various tools and techniques available for editing photos.

Lastly, we will dive into the video and sound editing aspect of owning and running a YouTube channel. We will discuss the different video editing software and techniques available to help you create a polished final product. We will also delve into the world of sound editing, where we will explore different tools and techniques for recording and editing audio to improve the sound quality of your videos. Additionally, we will cover music licensing and the proper use of copyrighted music in your videos.

By the end of this class, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the steps and skills required to build a successful YouTube channel, including how to take great photos and videos, edit them and use sound to create a polished final product that is ready to be shared with the world on your YouTube channel.

The flexible schedule (Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a time that is convenient for them to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started).

The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week. Homework assignments will include writing a list of topics, interests, and areas of expertise in which the students might be interested in developing a Youtube channel. There will also be research assignments on how to choose a channel name, the importance of images and videos, and all the details needed to make a great channel. 

Timeframe for the Week:
Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week.
Tuesdays-Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week.  The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the class.
Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom.  
Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students, students will also be able to engage in peer-to-peer review and be able to discuss how they went about completing the tasks.
Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week.

Enhance and build a YouTube channel by developing skills and a winning mentality. Learn how to build a subscriber base and what makes a channel successful. Through YouTube, learners can find a more productive use of their time than playing video games or spending hours scrolling through social media.  

Topics in session 1 will include: 
-Youtube Instructions to open your channel
-Understanding the equipment needed to make the best videos 

Topics in session 2 will include: 
-Video editing
-Planning your channel to make it great
-How to create catchy videos + thumbnails

In sessions 3 + 4 we will talk about how to make money and financial stability. This will include:
-Photography on phones
-building your subscriber base
-how the current stars became successful
-networking with like-minded creators

Topics in session 5 will include: 
-sound editing

Topics in session 6 will include: 
-Using all the new skills from the last 5 weeks to make it the best it can be.
-practicing internet safety
-how to make money from Youtube

Learners will learn skills that last a lifetime!
