What will they learn: Students will learn about how to create Manga comic arts. We will look at facial proportions, and body proportions, how the ratio is often lengthened, and how facial expressions, and proportions are different to make our own Manga characters. Students will create unique characters from the main character or protagonist, and the antagonist, additional characters to round out good story lines. Students will learn facial proportions and body proportions in Manga. They will also learn how to create different facial features based on protagonist/ antagonist characters. They will also learn to practice their first round with the teacher, and then create original pieces as homework.
I have a passion for drawing the figure and the portrait, it's what I majored in for my MFA, this is a natural transition for students to learn in the Manga style as it involves some reality and some changes to it. I have taught Manga now for many years in both the public school setting, private, and art museums. It's something I truly enjoy teaching students.

Materials needed are copier paper, pencils, ruler, and sharpies. Students may use technology to create their art as well.
