課堂經歷
This video-based flex class is all about adjectives! Please note that there are NO live meetings. Students will receive a video link on the day that class starts. Most students can recognize adjectives as a word that tells more about a noun... but what about demonstrative adjectives? Interrogative adjectives? Articles? This class covers all that... and more! We will also focus on why students should choose precise adjectives instead of weak ones like "pretty" and "delicious." Class begins with a fun warm-up that challenges students to use adjectives creatively and sets the theme of "stolen artwork" for the class. Then, we begin by looking at how we might use adjectives to describe a big house or famous paintings. Along the way, we keep a running tally of the different types of adjectives we've explored. After reviewing adjectives of quality, quantity, and number, we'll move onto the other forms, such as demonstrative, possessive, and interrogative adjectives. Throughout the course, students will have opportunities to use adjectives in relation to images and to identify adjectives in texts. We will also touch on how to use proper adjectives. Along with the first post, students will receive four handouts: 1) an overview of what they've learned in class; 2) optional homework; 3) a copy of an in-class activity that they can also do at home; and 4) the answer key to the in-class activity.
