課堂經歷
In this course, students will meet daily for a morning meeting that will last for 45 minutes each day. We will , construct a calendar, practice sight words, discuss the number of the day, and the topic of the day during each class. Daily, we will work on gross motor movements through song and dance. We will also work on social skills and following directions as we practice appropriate classroom behavior. Fridays will include a social activity of some kind in the form of show and tell, or social playtime with students. Students will then be given an activity to complete after class to reinforce learning of the topic of the day (for example ten frames). Students should have completed a kindergarten curriculum prior to this course. Students may be asked to turn in their completed work or post a picture or a video of the activity. Students will also be given math, reading, and science activity to be completed that week. Parents should see the learning goals section of the course for details on what these topics and standards will be covered. This course would include enrollment in the IXL learning program. This is where students will complete the assignments each week. The amount of work will be tailored to each child's needs. I will be able to measure progress and provide reports using this system. This will be a year around course broken down into multiple sections to make it more affordable for parents. I am very excited to get to learn with all of your fantastic children. My name is Shelby Landreth. I have been in the education field for many years. I was an education specialist at a local science museum teaching home school programs, school programs, and camps of many kinds. I also have experience teaching children with special needs. I have worked with these children in a school setting as well as a clinic setting providing ABA therapy. I also own the organization Creative Minds Learning Center LLC that also hosts classes here on Outschool. If there is a class of mine that you do not currently see available or if the class is sold out you may want to check to see if I have another teacher offering the class there.
I believe that there is no reason that education and life skills cannot be fun since it is an essential part of our daily lives. If you are looking for a teacher that loves teaching and wants to teach your child a concept in a way that they will have fun and enjoy the class, you will find it in my classroom with fun games and projects that promote a lifetime fuel for learning.
