I will administer a First Grade Foundational Skills Survey to measure student acquisition of foundational reading skills. Assessed areas include: Print Concepts, Phonological Awareness, Phonics and Word Recognition, and Fluency. Parents will be provided with a written summary report and recommendations for targeted instruction, within 7 days of completion of class. I hope you choose to enroll your child in one of my future private tutoring classes where instruction will be targeted to the child's individual needs.

I have been a teacher in Texas for more than thirty years. My experience includes Dyslexia Intervention, Academic Coach, Reading/Language Arts Teacher, and Small Group Intervention. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
I am passionate about teaching struggling readers. I use a multi-sensory approach to teaching Basic Language Skills, which includes: phonology, sound-symbol association, syllable instruction, morphology, syntax, and semantics.
