In this 4-session camp, students will be taken through a complete beginning finance course. We will start with personal finance and how we earn money and make spending decisions. They will be guided through creating a budget, tracking spending, and will learn how scarcity can effect our spending decisions. Learners will understand: ● The difference between wants and needs ● People make choices about how to use the money they earn based on their wants and needs ● How to use a budget to plan how to spend, share, and save money ● How to make a plan to meet a financial goal ● People work in different types of jobs to earn an income ● Resources are scarce, so individuals may not have access to the goods and services they want ● Producers and consumers exchange goods and services in different ways
