Students will learn more about the elements of film, such as: structure, cinematography, theme, etc.
Students will learn to apply their knowledge to academic areas, including essay writing and critical reading skills.
Students will gain a deeper appreciation for film specifically and art at large.

As a graduate of New York University's Dramatic Writing program, my expertise lies in dissecting films and screenplays for elements such as those that will be discussed in this course. Additionally, I have experience behind the camera and was lucky enough to earn entry into a Dublin-based screenwriting program which broadened the horizons of my film appreciation. Further, I have been a youth tutor and mentor for nearly ten years now. Students have often commented positively about the relaxed, respectful atmosphere of my classes; that's something I plan to continue in this course.
