課堂經歷
In this once a week ongoing class the students will design their own fashion inspired by mood boards. I will define what a mood board is and how it is used in fashion design. I will provide a different mood board each week, if they would like to create their own that would be great but it is not required. We will discuss the color palette, textures, patterns, silhouette, season and mood or feeling they are getting from the board and how to translate that information into fashion. I will also show them a couple of example designs created from the mood board. I will then take them step by step in how to draw the body and will show them examples of necklines, sleeves, shirts, pants, skirts and dresses to help them to create their design. If time permitted they can start a collection. We finish each class with a sharing time and I encourage them to share what they like about what they created in class. I have a BFA in Costume Design, and a Certificate in Fine Art from Mission Renaissance Fine Art School. I have been teaching for 20 years and creating art for 30.
