Have you ever wondered what it was like during prehistoric times? Would you like to know more about dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures? This class is tailored to younger learners who enjoy prehistoric times and would like to meet more amazing species up close and personal! This class will introduce you to eight fascinating creatures of the Jurassic period! Each week, we will spotlight a new species of dinosaur, pterosaur, or other prehistoric creature, looking at fossils and artists'...
Students will compare the ancient environment of the Jurassic period to the environment today. Students will identify prehistoric creatures of the Jurassic period. Students will distinguish between dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Students will examine features of organisms, such as teeth, to infer how they ate. Students will discuss adaptations that enable creatures to defend themselves from predators.
I teach classes and camps at the American Museum of Natural History about dinosaurs and many other topics.
Learners will use coloring supplies, such as markers or crayons, to complete their Jurassic book. All printouts will be provided by the instructor. If you can't print out the pictures, your learner can use them as reference while making their own drawing.
