課堂經歷
What will be taught? English games, spelling, word blending, punctuation and English literature. What topics will be covered? Interactive English games: Fun spelling and phonics games to help improve students skills whilst including a social aspect with friends. Phonics and word blending: to help improve reading and spelling skills. English literature: Book club section where we read a chosen fun book together. English rules: Rules that we often get stuck on such as verbs, prefixes and suffixes. We will meet twice per week and have different weekly English focus each week. Structure: Week one of April 25th Super spelling: -Interactive Spelling games. - Phonics spelling. -Guided and interactive reading. -Interactive discussion/debrief on what new words we learned. Week two of 2nd May Blending words and phonics: - Phonics and blending. -Guided and interactive reading. -Interactive discussion/debrief of new sounds learned. Week three of 9th May Book club theme : - Interactive reading games. -Talking about our favourite books. -Guided and interactive reading. -Interactive discussion/debrief about our guided reading and the characters. Week four of 16th May English topic Shakespeare: -Interactive literature games. -Shakespeare English topic. What do we know about him? - Guided and interactive reading of a popular Shakespeare play Twelfth night extract. - Interactive discussion/debrief on what we learned. *Rotation will cycle back to same topics. Teaching is fun, relaxed and interactive! This is a very interactive class that is friendly and fun. The class aim is to help students to develop their English skills specifically with spelling, blending, reading and most importantly confidence. Students should ideally have a grade 2/3 or above in reading but all levels are welcome to develop skills.

Students will learn to blend words, improve their reading, spell difficult words including silent vowels. We will also cover grammar rules, sentence structures and tricky English rules around suffixes, verbs and comprehension. All content is roughly in line with UK school curriculums and learning. (Similar to US education standards.)

ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Birmingham 🇬🇧 but most of my family are from Canary Islands originally. I started off as a singer, dancer and actor attending performing arts school. I then went on to study creative arts in education and teach children of all ages. I have worked in California USA as a teacher and worked in UK schools for over 6 years. I have also travelled to over 15 countries.
-6 years experience teaching ages 3-18.
-Experience teaching adults.
