Learners will read a debate topic, highlight evidence, and develop a thesis for Opinion Essay. 
Learners will write an introduction paragraph using a hook, thesis, and reasons for Opinion Essay.
Learners will write a body paragraph using a reason, with at least 2-3 pieces of evidence, examples, and elaboration.
Learners will write a concluding paragraph restating their thesis and reasons, and a final call to action.
Learners will write the rough draft and then revise and edit their writing. 
Learners will type their final copy of their Opinion Essay, assess themselves using a self-check rubric, and share with classmates. 

Welcome to my online classroom! I am Ms. Webster and I am so excited to provide engaging, fun, and interactive lessons for each learner that takes my class on Outschool. I am eager to provide an opportunity and assist learners in being successful inside and outside the classroom!

I have been teaching elementary school for eight years.  My first year included tutoring reading and math to students in kindergarten up to sixth grade.  My other years have been in the general education classroom where I have taught language arts, science, and social studies to fourth and fifth grade students.  I have a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and a master’s degree in Elementary Education, as well as a teaching license in Early Childhood Education.  In addition, I completed over 100 hours in a reading summer camp to achieve my Reading Endorsement K-12.  I am licensed to teach preschool-fifth grade in all subject areas.  Throughout my years of teaching, I have been rated “accomplished,” which is the highest rating through Ohio’s Teacher Evaluation System.  In addition, in the past, I have held the title for my grade level on our schools Building Leadership Team, as well as being a part of the districts Learning Leaders.
