In this class, students will learn about the components of rhythm. We will discuss tempo, beats, and note values. Students will learn and practice examples of rhythm as a group using the music from Disney’s 'Encanto.' This class will use a combination of a slideshow presentation, video/audio clips, group discussions, group activities. The class will start with a short introduction to the concepts that we will be practicing. Students will get the chance to share what they like about the...
After this class, students will be able to define the following musical terms: beat, tempo, quarter note, half note, and whole note. Students will be able to identify and clap along to the beat of a song at the appropriate tempo. Students will be able to apply their knowledge to any of their favorite songs.
We will refer to clips from the film 'Encanto' (2021, rated PG) via YouTube.
