課堂經歷
Using the framework of art history and the events that shaped art, let's learn about the fascinating world of art as artists! This class provides the opportunity to learn about art processes while learning about the artists and events that inspired them! Students will complete weekly projects based on the artist/movement discussed in medium, style and/or concept. New techniques will be demonstrated by Artist and Educator, Amy Pollman. She will also reference concepts through a brief PowerPoint/video, bringing the featured content to life. Learners are encouraged to be interpretive with the projects as they are assigned. Students will have the opportunity to begin their projects and complete them after class if necessary. Students are encouraged to bring completed works to share and post them in the classroom as a virtual art gallery. My teaching style approachable yet informed. I keep the students motivated and inspired in a collaborative, interpretive friendly, inclusive and culture conscience classroom. Classes will always have the theme introduced in the beginning, learners will participate in a short demo and then they will have a good portion of the class to create. Each week the students will get a supply list that they will need to bring to class. It is important that the students come with the supplies they need for each project so class may operate in a timely manner. Course supplies are listed in the supply list below.

This class can be messy. Please be advised that your learner needs a studio friendly space to work in studio friendly clothing. We also will be discussing cultures from around the world and history. I do my best to be as inclusive as possible. I insist on mutual respect to all members who participate (student to teacher and student to student) in the class.
供應清單
-Please note that this supply list is not needed for EVERY class. I will send out a weekly email which will indicate the project we are working on and the supplies needed. Supplies that need to be purchased will last well beyond the projects assigned. If you have a small amount of any of the supplies below, it will probably be enough to complete the project. I am doing my best to your supply list a one time investment that will last. I tried to make a list of the supplies that most students need in an typical art classroom with budget in mind. 1 package of construction paper 1 small stack of cardstock thick paper for drawing 1 box of craypas (16 color recommended) 2 glue sticks (in case one goes missing! : ) 1 bottle of white glue 1 pair of scissors 1 tray of at least 8 watercolors 1 small watercolor brush 1 medium watercolor brush 1 large watercolor brush 1 (suggested example) 1 set of markers with black 2 pencils and erasers 1 cup for paint water 1 paint shirt 1 set of tempera paint with black and white (warm and cool colors recommended) In addition, we will be using upcycled material: thin cardboard, food packaging, junk mail- anything paper that you might throw in the recycle bin can be used for at least two of our projects.
