Welcome to the Explore Africa Class. This is a FLEX Class which means there are no LIVE Classes. This is how the class will be conducted. ***Videos will be posted every week by the teacher. *** There is homework to be completed and turned in before the next class. *** Every student will participate in the discussion questions posted in the Classroom. There will be 2 questions each week. Week 1: Explore African Countries and Territories, Geographical Features such as the Great Rift Valley, History, Religion, Culture, Food, Music, and Modern Day Life. The five regions will be taught. Week 2: West Africa - Countries, Geographical Features, Population, People, History ~ Slave Trade, Colonization and its effects, Religion, Customs and Culture, Modern Day Life ~ Education, Trade, Music, Film Industry. Week 3: Central Africa - Countries, Geographical Features, Population, People, History ~ Colonization and its effects, Religion, Customs and Culture, Modern Day Life ~ Education, Trade, Music, Minerals. Week 4: East Africa - Countries, Geographical Features, Population, People, History ~ Colonization and its effects, Religion, Customs and Culture, Modern Day Life ~ Education, Trade, Music, Minerals, Infrastructure. Week 5: Southern Africa - Countries, Geographical Features, Population, People, History ~ Colonization and its effects, Religion, Customs and Culture, Modern Day Life ~ Education, Trade, Music, Minerals. Week 6: North Africa - Countries, Geographical Features, Population, People, History ~ Colonization and its effects, Religion, Customs and Culture, Modern Day Life ~ Education, Trade, Music, Minerals.
