課堂經歷
Having a neurodivergent brain can make it difficult to understand how much time has passed or how to manage our time wisely. In class we will discuss various strategies as well as doing activities that allow us to brainstorm ways to better manage our time. This class is rich in discussion and learners are encouraged to share their ideas both verbally and in the chat. We will discuss how much buffer time should be added to various real life scenarios to avoid being late. We will also use Google Maps to consider two possible fun "day trips" and weigh the pros and cons of both as well as how much time would be needed to prepare, travel, and enjoy the destination. I will introduce the concept of time blocking and we will use it to plan a potential free weekend day as a class. (Learners can choose to record ideas for their own weekend on the time blocking template). I will also introduce the concept of the Pomodoro method, and we will brainstorm possible applications for this powerful time management method. If time allows, we will discuss how using a time log can help us understand time better. Opening Questions: What are some times that you lose track of time or it's hard to figure out how much time to spend on an activity? What are things that you enjoy doing when you have extra time? 1) Buffer Time Discussion and Activities (Planner/ worksheet provided so learner can follow along and record their ideas.) 2) Time Blocking Discussion and Activity: Daily and Weekly Time Blocking (Use a time blocking planner to plan a free weekend day filled with chores, catch up work, and fun) 3) Calendaring ( I will demo how I use Google Calendar and Google Keep to keep track of my ToDos and responsibilities.) 4) Pomodoro Method Introduction and Brainstorm of Possible Applications (Planner/ worksheet provided so learner can follow along and record their ideas.) 5) Discussion of Time Logs and Their Applications (If time allows) Closing Discussion: Which strategies do you think you would like to try out in the coming week? How are you going to use them? This class works well for learners who are willing to brainstorm and share ideas either verbally or in the chat. Ideally learners would feel comfortable recording their ideas by writing or typing in the planners provided as well, but it is not absolutely required. If the learner does not participate in written activities during class, you are welcome to use these resources after class to help them review and apply what they learned.
學習目標
Learners will leave class with a wide variety of strategies and resources that will help them better manage their time and will have the tools to implement these strategies in everyday life.

父母的引導和規範
I will be screen sharing resources like Google Maps, Google Calendar, and Google Keep. Students will not be using the resources independently in class, but will be made aware of them. Learners can use Google Docs to record their ideas.
供應清單
Templates will be posted in our online classroom that learners can use to record their ideas or try out the strategies presented. You can print them out before class and Google Doc copies will also be shared. Something to write with and/or something to color with are often useful in my classes.
