Students will be given worksheets to print out after the class to reinforce their learning. Because this class meets once, this is optional and they have the choice to send their homework to me to look over. They will get a vocabulary list that goes over everything they have studied.

I do not routinely give an assessment at the end of the class. However, if a student or parent would like an assessment, they may request one by emailing me.

課堂經歷

I bring you the fourth installment of Essential Japanese for travel something that will not only build your confidence but will also give you the thought process and understanding of the Japanese language and culture.

Even though I had visited Japan and knew many of the words, I didn't know that some of these words can have several different meanings. I had used one word, instead of the correct one. Although they understood what I meant, I had made a fool of myself. Something that I do not want you to do. If you take the fourth part of this series and follow my instructions hopefully you won't make my mistakes.

This course will bring you essential Japanese that you need to comfortably travel as well as provide you some history and culture behind the words as well.

You will be able to use essential Japanese in a restaurant
In a restaurant
       1. How to ask if something is okay
       2. How to say yes it is or no it's not
       3. What people say when you enter
       4. How to ask for a recommendation
       5. How to say cheers
       6. What to say before and after you eat
       7. How to ask for the check
       8. Say how many people are in your party
       9. Say whether you want a smoking or non-smoking section.
      10. Ask for recommendations
       11. Ask for the check and explain whether it is separate or together
       12. State how you want your food prepared

Plus as an extra bonus, I will throw in some interesting facts about the words you are learning called Sam's fun facts. Something that other courses probably won't mention.

It is recommended that you sign up for part 1 through 3 of this course before you sign up for part 4. But if you know part 1-3 already, then by all means sign up for part 4.

You will definitely not want to miss this class. You will be surprised, a little Japanese will take you a long way.

I received my undergraduate degree in the Japanese language, culture, and history. I also earned my Master's degree in K-12 education. I studied abroad at Nihon University in Tokyo as well as worked as an English teacher in Niigata, Japan. I was able to see what I learned firsthand
