A strong core in elementary mathematics will give your student the foundation to build on more advanced math skills later. Unfortunately, too often math basics are not fully understood or learned, leaving students struggling to solve extra steps when the math is more advanced. In this one-to-one class, I will help your child develop foundational math skills and confidence with customized lessons. I help students not only understand what to do but why they're doing it and how the numbers work together. In this way, students will be able to apply these skills into more advanced mathematics. I will meet your child at their level, so no previous knowledge is required. Parents can recommend material to cover, send work the child needs help with, or I can work with your child to identify weaknesses that can be strengthened. Weekly material will be learner-directed and dictated weekly based on student needs.

This class utilizes Google Slides and digital games to make learning fun. All lessons will be customized to your learner's level, needs, and preferences. I provide direct instruction as well as application opportunities, including word problems. If desired, I can also provide at-home practice for your learner. If your child is younger or needs a shorter meeting, please let me know so I can offer a shorter time slot.
