In this 12-week, live Spanish class, students will learn how to use vocabulary to form basic sentences and begin having conversations. They will learn and apply a variety of important elements to do this (please see the schedule below). This class will provide every learner with ample opportunity to practice speaking the language. 

Week 1: Introductions - Greetings, Names, Ages, etc...
Week 2: Commonly used regular verbs
Week 3: -IR Regular Verb present tense conjugation
Week 4: -AR Regular Verb present tense conjugation
Week 5: -ER Regular Verb present tense conjugation
Week 6: Verb: Ir used as "to go" as well as future tense
Week 7: Favorites - Do you like...? I like... I don't like...
Week 8: Location - Where are you? I am at... Where is...? It is...  Where are you going?
Week 9: Transportation - How do you get from .... to ...?
Week 10: Visiting a restaurant - Ordering, asking questions, etc...
Week 11: Commonly used useful phrases
Week 12: 20 Questions / Describe it - This will be a game day. We will use the Spanish we have learned to play "Veinte Preguntas" and "Describelo".

Since playing is the best way for learning to really stick with children, that is how I model my teaching style. We will use a combination of flashcards, pictures, songs, games, and conversations to reinforce the material.

I feel that children should be encouraged to follow their passions. Children need to know that they can have what they want for their lives if they have the correct tools and motivation to get there. I hope to help build confidence in my students and to give them some of those tools. I also believe that not every child learns the same way. Education is not a one-size-fits-all experience. While I offer an extensive collection of class content choices, my specialty is meeting students where they’re at and making the course material accessible to all students, regardless of the topic. I love to be silly with my students and encourage interaction in all of my classes. I want learners to feel at ease and safe to be themselves in my classroom. My small class sizes and relaxed, encouraging teaching style allow me to tailor my classes to each student’s needs and learning style, resulting in learners walking away from class confident and smiling.
