They say that cats were once worshipped as gods and goddesses - and they've never forgotten. And isn't that the truth!?
From the long-haired Persian to the tailless Manx, domestic cats are all one species. There are, in fact, an estimated 75 breeds of domestic cats. But where did they come from? And when did they develop that special relationship with humans called "domestication?" We'll cover:
𓂀...√The difference between domestication and taming. √The definition of a species and subspecies. √What biologists consider the first cat ever. √Why did domestic cats get smaller and change in behavior in comparison to their ancestors or other cat species? √The difference between stray and feral cats.
I hold a Diploma in Egyptology from Oxford College in England and a Certificate of Museum Studies from Harvard University. And I’ve been to Egypt three times on personalized, educational tours. I am also a certified substitute teacher in the New Mexico and New Hampshire public school systems. I've been captivated by ancient Egypt since I was 10 years old. And I feel it's my destiny to share my enthusiasm for and expertise on this beautiful and brilliant 5000-year-old civilization with all of you. I hope to see you soon in this class. I think you'll agree that The Egyptian Room is an attractive, fun and inspiring place to learn.
