Welcome to Mrs. D's Art Room, where every day is an opportunity for exploration and creativity. In this special class, young artists will join me in a step-by-step journey to create a delightful watercolor painting of a charming Polar Bear Mom and her little cub. Along the way, we’ll learn some fascinating facts about these wonderful creatures! I’m excited to share some advanced watercolor techniques with everyone—like water wash, wet-in-wet, layering, and lifting color. Together, we’ll experiment with both flat and round watercolor brushes. I truly believe this hands-on experience will help the learners understand positive and negative space while we create the lovely texture of the polar bear’s fur! To ensure everyone can see my demonstrations clearly, I’ll be using a dual-screen setup so we can work through the painting together. For those who are comfortable using canvas, you’re welcome to bring that along; I’ll be using watercolor paper for our demonstration. I want each artist to feel encouraged to infuse their own unique touch into their artwork, and if we don’t finish during class, that’s perfectly okay! I will adapt the pace of our session based on the needs and abilities of everyone present, ensuring that everyone feels supported. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to follow along and have fun! I really hope to see you soon and share this wonderful experience together!

I’m passionate about teaching a variety of art classes that explore the beauty of color theories, color wheels, and harmonious color schemes. It brings me joy to guide students in creating human figures, landscape paintings, and canvas art through easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. I truly love sharing different styles and techniques of art, and I ensure that each demonstration is clear and supportive, using dual screens to make the learning experience even more accessible. It’s wonderful to see students grow and express themselves creatively!
I am an artist by profession. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. I have participated in many art exhibitions in my public art center and library and taught art, crafts, and card making in elementary schools and Girl Scouts as a volunteer. I love to share art with my community.
I have been teaching 1:1 art classes online and in person for the last 5 years to ages 4 to 14 years. I have instructed children online all around the world, and continue to teach local classes and workshops in my community. I am so happy to continue what I am doing on a bigger and better platform from the comfort of my home.
