The student will be learning letter- sound correspondence, rhyming, segmenting (sounding out) words, blending sounds into words,identifying syllables and phoneme manipulation. The student will develop the necessary skills to begin their reading journey and become a fluent reader. Each lesson will include a video of a modeling demonstration of the lesson, whiteboard and an YouTube video to highlight the lesson. Assignments will be given each week that will focus on the lesson of the week. Assignments will vary between worksheets and video demonstrations. Feedback will be given after receiving the assignment.

The learning goal is for students to build a strong letter-sound correspondence and decoding skills (segmenting and blending) that will help them become fluent readers.
