課堂經歷
Please note: This class picks up where Late Beginning Piano Level J leaves off. Please note, this class has 6 meetings to adjust for summer schedules. Prospective students should be able to read standard notation in C position, G position and F position, be able to identify accidentals in music, understand how to use dynamic contrast (crescendo, diminuendo etc), and have an understanding of articulation markings. Sight reading music is essential to this class so prospective students should be comfortable with reading music in the Level 3A Piano Adventures series (material from Level J). In this class, students will continue to develop their sight-reading skills, learn how to play more expressively, read and play in different time signatures and continue to develop dynamic control and phrasing. Please note: We will continue using Piano Adventures Lesson Book Level 3A (2nd Edition) for this class. It is a required text for the class. Week One: Ledger line note review. The Great Wall of China. Week Two: Review The Great Wall of China. Playing a Lead Sheet. Practice blocked chords and broken chords for Greensleeves. Week Three: Practice melody for Greensleeves. Add LH accompaniment. Start the Chromatic Scale. Week Four: The Chromatic Scale: RH and LH. Start Snowflake Rag intro. Week Five: Review D Major Scales. Primary Chords in D Major. Allegro in D Major. Examine patterns and repetition. Week Six: Continue working on Allegro in D Major. One-octave Arpeggios and Novela. Perform a piece of your choice for the class!
