I ask that students keep their camera on for the majority of class. Please reach out ahead of time if this will not work for your child. Students will engage in a writers workshop for 25 minutes daily for a week. On Monday, we will brainstorm ideas of what to write about. Students will then chose a topic. Students will then plan the beginning, middle, and end of the story they would like to write using words and pictures. Students will also chose a title. On Tuesday, we will talk about...
Students will write sentences that includes a capital letter, spaces and punctuation. Students will practice sounding out words to include more letters in each word. Students will create complex sentences by adding details. Students will write about how a situation made them feel. Students will provide feedback to a peer.
I have taught writers workshop frequently in Kindergarten- 2nd grade classrooms
Three pieces of paper for writing (can be blank, have half the paper with lines or have parent drawn lines on the bottom of the paper) Two additional pieces of blank paper Pencils that are ready to use Crayons or colored pencils to draw a picture on each page
