Exposure is very important when learning a second language and so this class will be about 75% in Spanish. English will be avoided when possible. Students will hear vocabulary words (about 8-10 words per class) associated with a class theme. As they hear and learn new words they will be asked to draw pictures to match the words. Students will expand their Spanish vocabulary and improve their fluency while drawing, listening to music and having a good time.
I am a native Spanish speaker, raising bilingual children. I often do virtual Spanish read a louds and Spanish lessons with my daughter's 2nd grade class over zoom, incorporating worksheets and activities to help them learn. In addition, I have a B.A. in Comparative Literature, where i studied literature across cultural boundaries (English and Spanish languages).
