Each week we will learn drawing techniques to make cute characters that change with current seasons and holidays. We will draw in real time and learn the steps for drawing including: pencil sketching, sighting/measuring, color, gradient, ink outlining, occasional lettering, and watercolors. During drawing time I encourage discussion among peers to share stories or experiences that go with the current week's theme. Students will improve drawing skills such as proportion, sketching, finalizing shapes, and applying color or gradients. Students will also grow socially, practicing conversation skills, and becoming confident in talking about their work and giving compliments to peers. The social aspect is as rewarding as the art skills.
I have a bachelors degree in Integrated Studio Art, with an emphasis on graphic design. I love painting and drawing subjects that make me feel happy. I have four years of experience teaching online and truly enjoy talking to kids and seeing them grow through art.
Pencils, eraser, white paper, water-colors (optional), crayons or colored pencils, and a black pen (preferably gel-pen or fine-tip black marker).
