This fun weekly art class is perfect for a full art curriculum for homeschoolers or any young artist seeking art enrichment with a variety of art media! Over six weeks, learners will explore a variety of famous artists such as MC Escher, Elizabeth Catlett, Katsushika Hokusai and Andy Warhol as well as contemporary artists such as Favianna Rodriguez and Robert Hurt and Tim Pyle (artists who create the amazing illustrations that NASA uses to showcase their new discoveries.) Large piece of heavyweight white paper about 12 x 18 inches, and large piece of black paper (preferably the same size as white paper) (You could also use the matte side of a black poster board or two smaller sheets of black paper taped together:))
Extra white paper for watercolor practice and printmaking lessons, a few sheets of card stock (or thin cardboard, any color), a few styrofoam sheets (can cut from vegetable tray, plates, or egg cartons)
pencil, watercolor paints, paint brushes, crayons or colored pencils, glue bottle, scissors, markers (not permanent)
Optional: blending stump or tortillon (can substitute with Q-tip or cotton swab)
Optional: White Tempera or acrylic paint
Optional: Oil Pastels or Chalk (Soft) Pastels
