There is no prerequisite for this class: beginners welcome! Every class will begin with a unique french song to conjugate the verb "être." We will then introduce the past tense (passé composé) of a french verb that requires être to conjugate that verb for each pronoun. Each day the students will be introduced to at least one sample sentence. The children will then draw the scene described in the sentence they just practiced. We will continue to introduce and practice to say 2 more sentences...

October 30, Saturday: class one/ week one: 1) We listen and sing along to the "être" song. 2) The students are introduced to a list of movement and reflexive verbs. Then the teacher picks one verb:"arriver." 3) The students review the conjugation for arriver with each pronoun. 4) A sample sentence is introduced, explained and the practiced by each student. 5) The students are encouraged to then draw a picture of the scene that the sentence represents. 6) When the student is done drawing and shares their art with the class they are encouraged to say the french sentence again, as they proceed to describe their picture.
