課堂經歷
In this class, students will meet each week to explore theatre, acting, and movement games! Through these games students will learn the basic concepts of acting: listening and responding with truth. We will also incorporate the aspects of scene study into our games and scenes: Who am I? Where am I? When is this scene taking place? (season, decade, year, month, day, time, "the moment before") What do I want? (The character's objective) Students will be given a scene to work on with another student. Each section (the day of the week your learner chooses to meet on a weekly, ongoing basis) will work together to find what we, as a group, are most interested in learning. If the group leans towards improvisation, we will dive deeper into those concepts. If a group is enjoying scene work, I will assign scenes and we will work together in break out rooms to study those scenes more deeply. All scenes will be age appropriate and from published works. ***Each class will still receive a comprehensive and varied curriculum.*** This is first and foremost a drama CLUB, and will be treated like an extracurricular activity more so than a class. There will be NO TESTS OR HOMEWORK except memorization of lines. This is a 8 week class and each class will build upon the last. Even though this is a "club", participation and good attendance is highly encouraged to get the most out of the class! Most importantly, this club is a safe space to try new things, be silly and "weird", and GROW as a young actor! This is a "judgement free zone"! CLASS BREAKDOWN: (each class includes a warm up to start that includes a physical, verbal, and creative component) Week 1: Getting to know you! Student introductions and group games Week 2: Intro to Scene Work: What do we do when we get a script? How do we start? Week 3: Students receive their 1st scripts and meet their partners; students go into breakout rooms to read the scene with their partners and work ideas Week 4: Warm up with improvisational techniques introduced, more scene work, digging deeper into scripts. Other students give each other constructive feedback and we bounce ideas off of each other. Week 5: Scene 1 "Performance" Students perform their scenes for each other and we reflect on how each scene has grown and changed from the first meeting; Laban efforts continued Week 6: Scene 2 Day! Students receive new scenes and partners; Read through 1 of first scene Week 7: Scene work and feedback day! First day of doing the scenes in front of other students; providing each other feedback and digging deeper into each script Week 8: Scene 2 performance Day! * Syllabus subject to change at any time depending on class goals/attendance/teacher modifications

供應清單
Students will be provided a scene prior to class in PDF format. It is highly encouraged that they print it out so that they can hold it in their hands when they act! Alternatively, they can use a tablet that you are comfortable with them moving around with, but a paper script is highly recommended. Please help students so that they have their scripts ready to go each week.
