Welcome to Montessori on Demand: A self-paced class at your speed! Culture & Sciences Part 1 empowers learners with the knowledge and tools to develop a strong history foundation. We use a certified Montessori curriculum to bring geography and history to life. Our classes are built with activities to help your learners discover the wonders of history. Let's learn together to foster their curiosity while building a strong foundation. We are proud to be the first and only accredited Montessori school on the Outschool platform, featuring certified teachers who bring their expertise from our brick-and-mortar school located in Ontario, Canada. In this course, you will explore the foundational aspects of geography and history, laying a solid groundwork for your child's understanding of the world. We begin with history, focusing on timelines and the passage of time, helping children grasp the concept of calendars and historical progression. We then transition to geography, where your child will learn about maps, continents, and various land and water forms. The course is structured into weekly segments, each targeting specific learning outcomes. You’ll receive carefully crafted video content that walks you through the purpose of each activity, the materials needed, and the step-by-step process of presenting it to your child. Videos are complemented by printable resources to provide practical alternatives to authentic Montessori materials. Throughout the course, presenter tips offer valuable insights to enhance the effectiveness of each activity. Our videos demonstrate how to create Montessori materials using common supplies, eliminating the need to purchase additional resources. Students are highly encouraged to actively participate by reviewing the class content and applying Montessori methods at home, fostering a collaborative and hands-on learning experience that deepens understanding and engagement. Our teaching style is designed to be both fun and engaging, ensuring that learning is an enjoyable experience for both learners and children. The self-paced format allows you to progress at your convenience, with interactive videos and dynamic exercises designed to make learning both productive and enjoyable. While the course is self-paced, you are not alone on this journey. Learners have the opportunity to book individual meetings with me, your teacher, for personalized support. Whether you have questions, need guidance, or seek feedback, I'm here to help you effectively implement Montessori principles in your home. By the end of this course, learners will feel confident in culture and science activities, making learning an exciting and enriching experience. This activity reinforces the understanding of continuity and cycle of time through the change of seasons. It helps a child visualize the contrast between each season and also associate events with each season. The activity also reinforces sorting and sequencing. Sandpaper Globe
Sandpaper Globe helps children explore the continents' shapes and positions through tactile learning. Using sandpaper-covered globes, kids trace and feel the continents' outlines, enhancing their spatial awareness and geographical understanding.
