Join us for an exciting journey through the enchanting world of Disney! Each week, students will watch a different Disney movie at home and then come to class to dive deeper into the themes, characters, and lessons each film offers. Through lively discussions, creative projects, and engaging activities, learners will explore the magic of storytelling while enhancing their critical thinking and communication skills. Let’s discover the wonder of Disney together!

Course Outline:

Week 1: Introduction to Disney Magic
• Movie Assignment: Watch Toy Story
• Class Activities:
     • Group discussion on favorite characters and themes of friendship.
     • Character drawing activity: Create your own toy character.

Week 2: Believe in Yourself
• Movie Assignment: Watch The Lion King
• Class Activities:
     • Discuss themes of bravery and self-discovery.
     • Create a "circle of life" art project showcasing the animals and their roles.

Week 3: Dream Big
• Movie Assignment: Watch Cinderella
• Class Activities:
     • Explore the importance of dreams and perseverance.
     • Write a short story about a dream or aspiration.

Week 4: Family Matters
• Movie Assignment: Watch Finding Nemo
• Class Activities:
     • Discuss family dynamics and the importance of teamwork.
     • Create a family tree collage.

Week 5: The Power of Friendship
• Movie Assignment: Watch Frozen
• Class Activities:
     • Analyze the bond between sisters and the theme of loyalty.
     • Sing along to “Let It Go” and discuss its meaning.

Week 6: Cultural Exploration
• Movie Assignment: Watch Moana
• Class Activities:

• Class Activities:
     • Explore themes of identity and choice.
     • Write a letter to Ariel about what it means to be true to yourself.

Week 10: Celebrating Our Journey
• Movie Assignment: Choose your favorite Disney movie from the course
• Class Activities:
     • Presentations: Share what you learned from your favorite movie.
     • Create a "Disney Magic" scrapbook capturing highlights from all the films.
