課堂經歷

**Please note that this class is not to teach your learners Spanish but for them to have an immersive experience in the Spanish language. This is a Spanish immersion session for bilingual speaking learners, heritage speakers, or dual-language learners and it is taught in Spanish**

This course is designed as a FLEX course. It has a duration of 4 weeks and it is asynchronous meaning that you will be taking your classes at any time during the week, and we won’t be having any live classes. Although we won’t meet live, we will communicate throughout the week on Outschool’s classroom page, and I will be available via email should you have any questions or concerns throughout the course. Since we won’t be meeting live, we will have all of our virtual discussions and participation on the classroom page.

Let's travel to Puerto Rico!

This flex will be completely in Spanish. This is a Spanish immersion flex class for bilingual-speaking learners, heritage speakers, or dual-language learners that understand and can follow prompts in Spanish.

This will be a 4-week project-based immersive language class. Each day we will work on a different theme and learners will follow prompts in Spanish. This is a hands-on learning activity. Learners will have the opportunity to record a video in Spanish and post it to the classroom page.

Week 1: I will provide a pre-recorded video for the learners with information and a how-to video to make a Puerto Rico flag.
Geography - students will learn about Puerto Rico's geographical location and important landmarks They will learn where Puerto Rico is located on the map as well. They will make a Puerto Rico flag. For this class, I will provide a printable of the Puerto Rico landmarks.
Materials needed: red and blue crayons/markers, white paper, and the Puerto Rico landmark printable.
Student assignment: Upload a video talking about their favorite landmark and the flag they made on the classroom page before week 2.

Week 2: I will provide a pre-recorded video for the learners with information and a how-to video to make their musical instruments.
Musical instruments - learners will make their very own "maracas" and "pandero".
Materials needed: empty water bottle, different color permanent markers, stickers, 1/4 c. dried beans, rice, or small pebbles. Paper plates.
Student assignment: Upload a video talking about their favorite musical instrument on the classroom page before week 3.

Week 3: I will provide a pre-recorded video for the learners with information and a how-to video to make their coquí tree frog and parrot.
Animals - learners will make their very own Puerto Rican parrot and tiny tree frog coquí.
Materials needed: white paper plate, or a pre-cut circle of the same size, crayons, markers, different color construction paper, glue stick, and scissors.
Student assignment: Upload a video talking about their favorite animal craft on the classroom page before week 4.

Week 4: I will provide a pre-recorded video for the learners with information and a how-to video to make their very own Olympic medals.
Olympic Athletes - participants will learn about Puerto Rico's Olympic medal winners. They will craft their very own Olympic medal.
