Welcome to the neighbor of Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol!
⭐️ Reminder: This is a Self-Paced class. There are no live lessons. ⭐️
Week One & Two: The Haunted House Next Door- Book 1
Week Three & Four: Ghosts Don't Ride Bikes, Do They?- Book 2
⭐️ This is a READ ALOUD book club.
⭐️ Books 1-2 are read aloud to the students through my video lessons.
⭐️ Kahoot game will be given at the end of each book to check for understanding.
⭐️ Fun optional activities provided at the end of each book.
⭐️ Plot development questions will be answered together during the read aloud.
⭐️ Goal of a Read Aloud Book Club:
Enjoy the book and foster a love of reading!
⭐️ Earn a special Desmond Cole bookmark to download when you complete the course!
🎯 I will teach reading skills and how to think while reading during my read aloud.
🎯 When I read aloud, I do it in an interactive format, even though it is recorded.
🎯 I am NOT just reading the book.
🎯 I am helping them process and become active readers!
⏰ Class Structure:
✅ Two videos per week.
✅ One Book read over 2 weeks.
✅ Kahoot given at the end of each book.
⭐️ 8 total videos- 2 Books Read- 2 Kahoots given- Unlimited laughs! ⭐️
🎯 Class Expectations:
Students should complete the work assigned and reach out to me if there are any questions. Students that are wanting to earn a grade for the course must upload their completed work by the end of the class. All work is self-checking or checked while watching a video. If, your child does not desire a grade, then their work does not need to be submitted.

🐶 My Classroom and Teaching Style:
My goal is to make learning as happy 🥳 and stress-free as possible! My classroom is fast-paced and interactive. It is a kind, caring, supportive, productive, silly, and just a little bit crazy kind of space! I want students to love class and enjoy showing up to learn with me. Students can only learn when they feel comfortable and safe! I provide that environment for my students, then watch as their learning soars! I have a personality- and I let that shine through on my self-paced course videos! I want the students to feel like they just had a live class with me. 😊學習目標

🎓 My Background and Qualifications:
Hi! I'm Kimberly Baust. The kids usually call me Mrs. B or Ms. Kim! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child.
I have a:
⭐️ B.S. and Masters degree in Elementary Education.
⭐️ Taught in the classroom for over 25 years!
⭐️ Taught in grades 3-6 during the school day
⭐️ Worked with students from K-12 after school and in the summers
⭐️ Taught in public school
⭐️ Majority of my years in the classroom were in elite private schools.
⭐️ Have been certified to teach grades K-6 in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia!
Teaching is my calling and my passion. I love to teach children and help them reach their full potential. I look forward to working with your child and getting to know them!
