This three-week class is inspired by "The Big Orange Splot" by Daniel Pinkwater, a short charming children’s book about a man who transforms his home to fit his dreams. His home inspires his neighbors to create houses that fit their own personalities. Students Will: - Reflect on their identities: likes, dislikes, preferences, and personal style. - Build their imagination as they design a dream house that fits their personal style. - Learn a little about the elements of art and principles of design. - Learn that their opinions and preferences have value (this one is the most important)
Children can use any art materials they have in their home, crayons, markers, oil pastels, pencils and art paper, printing paper or card stock are all good.
