During class, we will learn the vocabulary associated with the dance form of ballet. This class will cover the French-based system of words by describing their movements and their translations through videos, pictures and a PowerPoint presentation. Week One: • Composition of a ballet class • Attire & Costumes • Positions of the feet • Barre basics Week Two: • Body positions • Positions of the arms • Types of Jumps/Leaps • Stage Directions
Students will learn the foundational terminology to study ballet with confidence.
I have been studying dance for 25 years and am a firm believer that ballet sets dancers up for success! Ballet teaches dancers control, precision, and self-discipline while providing both physical fitness and mental stimulation. I love how calming and poetic this discipline is while building confident dancers for life.
