Have you ever wondered what it was like during prehistoric times? Would you like to know more about what Earth was like before the dinosaurs? This class is tailored to younger learners who enjoy prehistoric times and would like to meet more amazing species up close and personal! This class will introduce you to seven fascinating creatures of the Cambrian period! The Cambrian began about 540 million years ago, way before the dinosaurs, and is sometimes called the "Cambrian explosion". We will...
Students will compare the ancient environment of the Cambrian period to the environment today. Students will identify prehistoric creatures of the Cambrian period. Students will discuss adaptations that creatures can defend themselves from predators. Students will learn about Earth’s prehistory before the dinosaurs.
I teach classes, camps, and graduate seminars at the American Museum of Natural History about evolution, prehistory, and many other topics. I look forward to sharing my enjoyment of ancient prehistoric times with your learner!
Learners will use coloring supplies, such as markers or crayons, to complete their Cambrian book. All printouts will be provided by the instructor. If you can't print out the pictures, your learner can use them as reference while making their own drawing.
