This four day writer's workshop is meant to get learners excited about writing for fun and inspired to write for themselves as a creative outlet!  It can be taken either as a one-on-one class or with a friend.  (Just contact me for details when booking if you'd like your learner's friend to join; otherwise it will only have one spot open by default for a 1:1 class.) 

Day One: Short Story Workshop  
We will learn how a short story is structured and then learners will be given a choice of three winter inspired writing prompts to write their own short story.

Day Two:  Bullet Journaling + Poetry Workshop 
We will learn about diary keeping and bullet journaling and then learners will work on their own winter inspired journal page!  We will also learn about a few types of poems and learners will be shown three winter inspired pictures to choose from to create their own poem.  

Day Three:  Comic Strip Workshop
We will learn the difference between a comic book and a graphic novel and learners will then be able to work on creating their own comic strip!  I will give learners a choice of some winter related items and concepts to include in their story which can either be drawn into the story or included through dialogue. 

Day Four:  Fairy Tale Workshop
We will discuss why fairy tales are so popular and memorable and learners will have a choice to either re-tell a famous fairy tale or make their own from scratch.  I will give learners a choice of a winter location as well as some winter related vocabulary to accompany their fairy tale!

I hope to inspire learners to find joy in writing by means of this creative workshop where there will be no grading or pressure given! 

Note:  Because this is a private workshop, this can be tailored to fit your learner's preferences!  For example, some students may enjoy a couple days working on one of the types of writing listed rather than spending a day on one that they don't enjoy as much.  Also, if parents would like a day to be spent on the five paragraph essay, or another writing topic, as a replacement to one of the other subjects, this can be worked out too.  Feel free to let me know if your learner has any such preferences!
