This class is a fun Creative Writing Summer Camp! Students will meet for 4 days for this writing camp. They will write a creative piece each day [more information listed below], learn a writing technique to use in that day's class, and have an opportunity to share their work with the class! 

My classes are meant to be fun, creative, and inspiring for young writers. I love to help students come up with new ideas for their creative stories. This writing camp will be casual while still educational. Each day will start with a mini-lesson (listed below) on the skill they will use that day for their writing project. Students will spend 15-20 minutes writing in class. I ask for quiet time in class and only allow students to ask short questions during writing time so that everyone can concentrate and write! 
Each class will end with students sharing their creative work! I will never force your child to share, but most students want to share their work in class, so I always allow time at the end of each class to share! 
Creative Writing Topic and Style listed here: 
Monday: Poetry; rhyming and acrostic [freestyle is an option for students as well] 
Students will write poems after learning a few styles and reading some samples. 
Tuesday: Short Story; using the 5 senses to tell a story
Students will write a short story of their choice. 
Wednesday: Comic Books; Dialogue, onomatopoeia
We will write our own comic book in class! 
Thursday: All about me; figurative language, imagery  
Today we will write a personal narrative in any style they choose. Students get to choose their own adventure in writing today.
