In this writing/drawing class, we will draw a picture together and then brainstorm some good sentences to go with our theme. We will first look at a rubric to see what creative writers include in their pictures and stories. Then we will draw a picture, according to the theme for that week. We will then brainstorm some ideas for sentences, including some adjectives and adverbs to make our sentences more descriptive. Students can take turns sharing their ideas of things that we can include in...
Students will learn that creative writers include lots of details in their pictures and sentences to make a good story. They will see some good examples of pictures and sentences, with details, as we go over a rubric. Students will learn how to draw a picture and come up with several sentences that match the picture/theme. Students will learn what adjectives are and that we can use them to make our sentences more descriptive.
