In this 4-week course, you will learn some of the elements that create a suspenseful short story. Each week, you will focus on a new element for your story with the goal being that you complete one thrilling short story by the end of the course. We will discuss creating a suspenseful mood, pacing, conflict, compelling characters, foreshadowing, and editing. We will use google slides during the discussion, and you will be given some time to practice your writing and share ideas during each...
The goal of this class is for students to gain more insight into righting a suspenseful short story and produce and original story of their own.
I have taught English for five years in Middle School and High School. I have conducted several writer's groups and courses.

Students will be informally assessed during the class through small writing practice prompts. The goal of the course is to complete one short story that uses the elements from the lessons.提供的成績
Students should bring a pen and paper to class. They should also be willing to type their short story in a document that they can potentially share.
Some aspects of suspense may be brought up in discussion. This may sometimes include murder mystery elements.
Some works by Edgar Allen Poe and other suspense writers will be discussed.
